I was sitting in a type of small, plain looking waiting room with no windows, when my maternal grandparents entered through a door on the left side of the room. I was somewhat surprised to see them, and then it slowly crossed my mind that they had both died and that this was an unusual circumstance. I said something about them being dead (don't recall exactly what I said), and then had the thought that perhaps I was dead, too. I stood up and began to move to my right, though I'm not sure there was an exit of any kind in that direction. The dream ended and I woke up with the feeling that 1) I was being signaled that my life might actually end soon, or 2) I was being signaled by my subconscious that I'm not progressing toward my goals as quickly as I would like and felt figuratively "dead." I also felt reaffirmed about my belief that death is a simple transition to another state or dimension.

Yes. I have a recurring dream that my grandmother (who actually died of colon cancer) returns home in my father's limo. When the door opens, I am thrilled to see she is still alive. She explains that she was not really dead and that she had an ingrown toe noail and had been away while it was healing. I suppose it's wishful thinking that my beloved grandmother is not really dead and that it was merely a trivial problem that kept her from me.
-
I have had dreams about both my parents whp are deceased. They were dreams about events in my life where their opinion was important to me. I could "feel" their prsesence and approval. I dreamed that I was looking for a new place to live. A friend showed me a house that was going to be for sale soon, but the family had still not moved out. They were away, but gave us permission to spend a couple of days there to get a feel for the house and the neighborhood. I brought my adult children along and they loved the house. It was probably bigger than I needed, but they were suggesting all kinds of things we could do so we could all move in and enjoy the house together. As we separated off, exploring the rooms, I found the perfect room for me as my bedroom suite. It was very relaxing and comfortable. It had lots of little extras that made it seem special. As I began to wander around the grounds, I could see that my husband was already there in the swimming pool enjoying and relaxing in the water. It made it very inviting. My husband actually died 10 years ago, but he was there as if nothing had changed and time just slipped by. We laughed and talked, and sat in the lounge chairs enjoying each others company. I was as if he never left. I felt very happy inside and did not want to say anything that would take away from those moments spending time with him again. I was afraid if I said something about it, he would disappear. I wanted to be with him and I hoped that my vision and experience with him would last forever.

Yes, my parents visit me regularly in my dreams. We are always in our old house, but it's empty because my brother and I have sold or removed all the furniture (as we did, when they had died), and it seems unseemly to mention to them that we did it because they were, after all, dead. Don't know what it means. I'm always amused by my predicament when I awaken.

She was a birder and we spent many hours listening to Cornell lab tapes. i emember the songs but couldn't stand the voice of the narrator so blocked conscious awareness of the Ids of the birds. This 'dream' seemed to be much more than a dream. I had been feeling a sinking feeling for a few months that I was going to die soon. I spent the day cleaning up my apartment. And just before I went to sleep, I verbally asked my Grandmother to help me if she could, and that I would like to live if there was anything I could do to help in the future. I 'awoke' walking from a dark hall into a brightly lit room with diffused light I couldn't see the source of. I walked in with a very tall, white robed person with flowing hair. There were 2 sets of 2 chairs facing each other offset from each other. The person in front of me, sat down and turned from me so I could not see who he/she was. Then after a moment, a child of like 10-11 in overalls came in followed by a woman of about 30 with a very pronounced swooped bangs hair style. They sat down, with the child in front of me. She looked angrily at me and put her knees to her chin and looked down to the floor. The woman was talking to me, but I couldn't hear her. I was looking at her and was thinking, 'Where do I know you from?' and then the swooped hair, and back to her face again, back and forth from hair to face, for like 20 seconds. All of a sudden I remembered having seen a photo of my Grandmother only once in her early 30's nearly 10 years before just after she died. And it looked like her. I blurted out, "You're my Grandma!" She burst into a smile and stood to hug me. Just as we hugged, boom, I was back in my body, awake and breathing hard. I went back to sleep. I awoke sometime later. Unable to breath. I have sleep apnea, and was choking on mucus, and couldn't get a breath. I heard in my head really loud, "Stand up!", I had no problem with doing that and did. I then heard, again in my head "Breathe out!" But I said in my mind, "But that is counterintuitive." and once again, in a more exasperated tone heard, "Breathe out!". I thought, "Well if I am going to die anyway, there is nothing that will will make a difference." I did breathe out and punched a small hole through the mucus, enabling me to get a small amount of air and eventually breathe normally. Afterwards, I was saying over and over again, 'Thank you Grandma'. This happened in about 2002 or 2003.
-
Oh yes I have dreams about my father & both my grandfathers every so often & they appear in my dreams just as I remember them in life. The dream is always I am with one of them & we are just talking about things and laugh & joke around like we did when they were still alive. I couldn't tell you what that means other than I miss them very much & maybe that is my mind's way of me still being connected to them & to keep me from missing them so much.

I was in a classroom setting of sorts. My grandpa (my mom's dad -- he's dead and i never met him) was there and he told me that I was going to have to embrace the white wolf because a black horse was going to ride through and only I had the ability to confront it. The horse was supposedly riding West from Alabama. Several people kept looking out the window in anticipation of its arrival. In the meantime i was standing in the middle of the room contemplating this scenario, all the meanwhile the white wolf was pacing back and forth from the front of the classroom -- where my grandpa was positioned -- to the middle of the room where I was standing. When the wolf would approach me, he would drop his nose and then push its head up to my hand. Then arrived the moment. I could feel the air all around us settle rather heavily. I could see the black horse approaching. All of a sudden I was outside. And the situation became a rather out of body experience. There were two kids on tricycles. A girl with light hair, was out in front, and a boy with dark hair was peddling behind her. The boy was shifting between his current representation as a child and a tractor -- the kind that smooth out asphalt. In both instances he was a menacing force. He did finally catch up to the girl and ran her off her tricycle sending her skidding a few feet from her contraption. A crowd had formed along the paved street where the children were riding and all who witnessed were in agreement that the boy was satanic.

I was in a shopping mall with my daughter and granddaughter. My granddaughter was outside the store and we heard a commotion. -
Yes, my deceased father was in a dream about a 4th of July picnic. This was natural because the 4th of July was his birthday and the family always got together to celebrate both events.
-
Yes. My mother. I dreamed that we were in the Akron Civic theater and she was there pointing out some artwork on the walls as I took pictures of them. It didn't seem odd that she was there. When I woke up I realized I had just had a weird dream. Felt kind of good that I had talked with my mom again.
-
no - the dead have no currency - I have fond memories of several people who are dead, but they have not been part of my life (except as examples of saintly behaviour) since they keeled over...
-
Yes, although its been many years. When my father died 20 years go, I had trouble in the early weeks recalling what he looked like, although we were so close! I was devastated when he died. As the weeks went by, I dreamt that I was in a car with him, in the back seat, and he was driving. I kept asking him questions and to turn around and he wouldn't. Over time, he started to turn towards me, but I could only see his profile. Finally, one day he turned and looked at me and I woke up. It was so real. I woke up and started crying. I knew he was telling me that I needed to accept that he was no longer here.
-
Many times over the years I have had dreams like this, but not recently. The most memorable one was a dream of a man who came to our back door and acted as though he wanted to talk to me. I later found a picture of him with my father. I found out it was my uncle who had moved to a different part of the country before I was born. I had never met him. I have always wondered if he may have been trying to contact me. It was an experience I'll never forget.
-
I had a dream several years after a good friend passed away. He had given me a start of an indoor houseplant several months before he passed away and told me to be sure not to let it die. One night a while back I dreamt that he was in my living room and he told me that my plant needed watering. He talked for a few minutes then he asked if there was a Taco Time near by. I told him where one was. Then he was gone. I think that I must have been thinking earlier that I should water my indoor houseplants because I hadn't lately. So maybe that was on my mind when I went to sleep. I have no idea about the Taco Time question. It was the strangest dream I had ever had.
-

-
I dream of my dad who died in 1984. He is just like I last saw him driving his red truck picking me up and taking me to a house with a white picket fence in front of it and a swing on the pourch. We swing and he tells me not to worry things will always work out. That he is watching and still taking care of me when he can. We swing and talk of other things for a bit and he takes and drives me home. I think that this dream is telling me that my dad is still looking out for me and my kids and the house that he always takes me to in my dreams is a house either I or one of my kids will one day own. That no matter what happens I always have my family.
-
My mom was alive and on a boat with my family. I was aware that she had died, but that she was able to come back. I think that this is just a way that my mind is dealing with the loss.
-
it's been a few weeks, but the last person who appeared alive in my dreams even though they've now passed on was my father. i don't remember specifics, as i said, it's been a couple of weeks since the dream. i still have them every now and then, and he's usually just doing stuff he would normally do...watching tv, cracking jokes, giving opinions on things, smoking cigarettes, etc., nothing strange other than the fact that he's there when he shouldn't be.
-
Yes. I've had dreams about my maternal grandfather whom I love dearly and still miss desperately even though he has been deceased for over 30 years. In my most recent dream Grandaddy and I went to church together on a Sunday morning. After church, we returned to his home and ate lunch with the family. After lunch Grandaddy and I went outside and planted a tree in his yard. As far as a meaning for the dream I believe it is just a mechanism which enables me to keep him fresh in my memory even after all these years. The planting of the tree represents a desire to leave something worthwhile behind after we are both gone (dead).

I Had a dream about my friend shaquille. I invited him over to diner and I was in the kitchen cleaning but I forgot to give him a fork. The wasn't any clean forks in the dish racks so I clean one from the sink but the fork I had picked up had stains in it. no matter how hard I scrubed, the stains didn't want to come out and when quill saw me struggling, he said "it's okay, I'll just grab one from the dish rack". I tried to be quick and turn around "Wait! There's no silverware-" but he was holding a fork in his hand. Some how he looked faded. lighter than what he was before and that's when I realized that it was because of the fork. I came to the conclusion that he represented the stain on the fork and the fork represent earth. although people die, it's up to us to keep their imprint upon the earth.

I often dream about wife who died over 18 years ago. We are usually at a vacation spot that I know we did visit.Once dreamed she was standing by my bedsde looking down at me. Her face was so clear I swore I wasn't dreaming.
-
Yes. I dream about my parents and former daughter-in-law. I'm always mad at them for behaving badly. My dad and daughter-in-law behaved badly. I was not close to my mom like I wanted to be.
-
Yes I have dreamed about my mother who has been dead for several years. I don't know what the dream means. My mother was, of course, very influential in my life.
-
Yes, I have dreamt about dead friends meeting with me and talking with me. The last one of these dreams was quite a while ago, though. I don't recall much detail. I was having these dreams about my friend Michael for as long as 3-4 years after he died. I guess the last one was about a year ago, just after I got married. And he was giving me "life advice" during the dream. As I recall, the dream took place in the city I used to live in when he was alive, and I was telling him about my upcoming wedding (in the dream it hadn't happened yet?), and we was responding to this information in a very realistic way. There was a montage of settings in our old town.... I don't know what it means.
-
I don't really understand. If you mean that a dead guy still looks at and talks to me, then I have had a dream that involved that, however I don't remember the context. I think he was part of my subconscious talking me through a situation because there was no one else to do so. If you mean otherwise, I had a dream that my brother's twin was still alive, and thinking about two of my brother is terrifying.
-
Yes. Once I dreamt about my father after he was dead. He was standing at the front door of our new townhouse in the outfit he was wearing when he died. He was unshaven but he was smiling. I took it to mean he approved of our new house. I woke up with my dog licking me on the face.
-
Yes my little brother who got hit by a truck at the age of 4 and I think its just something that bothers me so I think about it when unconcious too
-
My grandmother and I were having lunch she was giving me advice about a relationship issue I was having...I took her advice and resolved the issue...I think we have memorized people who are important to us and in turn can manifest thier actions in a given situation
-
I have dreams about my mother who died in 97. In the dream she was trying to get me to walk with her. I don't know where we supposed to be going. I think that one means I should live my life the way she raised me.
-
Yes. I have dreamed about both of my parents and my cousin. most recently about my father with he and I at a baseball game. It was a very pleasant dream, but sad when I awakened and realized he was gone. I think it just meant that I miss him.
-
My brother died in a boating accident 7 years ago. I had a dream in which I was in a room of my parent's house (which they no longer own), and I saw my brother walk up the steps to the side door. I don't remember if he said anything. The only other thing I remember is him turning and descending the steps, and then walking across the neighbor's driveway, and then disappearing.
-
My dad came, in the air, like a "bust" almost. He was saying"don't worry about your sister, I'll see to it she's taken care of", and "she'll lose more than you think from what she does."
-
I dreamed my grandfather, who died when I was 10, was alive again. Also in the dream he spoke english, whereas in reality he did not. He was very happy to see me and amused that I had thought he was dead all along.
-
I saw my father who passed away in 2006 last November in a dream. We didn't speak, he just gave me a big bear hug and smiled at me, and then I woke up. It was the day of his birthday -- I think he was telling me hello.
-
I dreamt about my grandmother that she was visiting us at our home however she was not alive when we bought our current house. I believe the dream is a way of our past loved ones to actually come and visit with us in the subconsious state
-
yes when my cousin passed I dreamed that we were shopping in the mall and the store for food and clothes. she look as if she was still alive and she had ages to the age she would be if she was still alive.
-
Yes. I've had several dreams about my grandmother since she passed away. The dreams are usually set in present day, normal events, family gatherings. I think these mean that her spirit is with us. These dreams are never scary.
-
No, I don't recall dreaming of anyone who is now deceased. I probably have but I can't recall. I do not ascribe any meaning at all to any of my dreams.
-
My grandmother died when I was in grade school. I dreamed she was giving me advice, but I can't remember what the discussion was about now. That dream was from awhile back.
-
My son passed away suddenly in 2010. Within a two week period he came to me in a dream. He was wearing a beautiful gray flannel suit. He looked so happy and told me he was OK. He then kissed me and said "I love you". I can still feel that kiss. He has never come back again in a dream. I think it was his "passing" and saying good-bye.
-
My father. He appeared at our hunting camp for a year after his death, then nearly a year after he died suddenly, in the dream I tld him I had sold the property and that it was "time he went over". He has not appeared since.
-
I had a dream of my dieing grandfather(he had cancer at the time). In the dream he was walking by me pushing a cart(I think he was working on a plantation). I noticed him and I ran over and kicked the cart over and told the master in charge that this was grandpa and he shouldn't be doing such a labor. At the time I didn't know that he was in the hospital in critical condition; this was just a dream that came to me, but not from my conscience. I don't even think that at the time I knew of his condition. I think the dream was a way of showing the hard-labor that his soul was going through while he was sick; He was holding on in the physical, but his soul was ready to go home to Heaven.
-
Yes. However the dream is much more than the person being alive. My dream was that I went to a funeral and when it was time to view the body the person sat up in the casket. I don't know who it was because I did not see the face. I really don't know what the dream meant because it was very creepy and I hope it never happens.
-
I just dreamed about my dog, Wendell who died 4 years ago. We were running on a mountain trail and while she appeared old and grey like she was right before she died, she was as energetic and active as if she was a still a puppy. The dream ended with her sleeping on my bed like she did every night of her life. The dream was so real that I expected her to be there when I woke up. I think it means that I am ready to get a new dog!
-
spoke to my son who died six years ago. He told me everything was going to be okay. As he faded away, I heard "I love you Mom" what the dreams meas to me, I don't need to feel guilty.
-
yes it was my grandmother, and I kept trying to find her till suddenly i realized she was dead. as soon as i realized this someone taps me on the back and i know its her, then i wake up.
-
Yes--I have dreamt about conversing with my deceased husband at a picnic, I think. He died from suicide 8 years ago and I believe he tries to reach me in the spiritual world, on occasion.
-
When I was in high school I lost a close friend in a car accident. I took it really hard and a few months after his passing he appeared in my dream and told me it was ok, he was ok, and I didn't need to be sad anymore.
-
I dreamed I was shopping and my mother was in the store with me. We were looking for household items but I do not remember what items. This is when I awoke at about 3 AM.
-
I dreamt my grandmother was sitting in my bedroom in the house I grew up in and she asked me why I was marrying my husband. I told her because I loved him and she told me it wasn't a good idea. I should have listened to her. My husband and I were divorced in 1995 and my grandmother hasn't come to me since (1986).
-
Yes. My mom was with me. We were driving and chatting. It made me feel very good. My thoughts on this is that my mom is just reminding me, through my dreams, that she is watching over me.
-
Yes, I have. I've dreamed that I've actually seen that person on the street or walking somewhere. I recently just lost a friend, who gave us tomato plants and I can see her in our garden watching over those plants or tending to them.
-
I dream sometimes about my cousin who died 6 years ago from breast cancer. I think this is because I miss her terribly. I dream often of pets that I've had who have died. In the dream, they are running towards me, and I'm crouched down with my arms open, ready to receive them. But they never reach me and instead disappear. I think I have those pet dreams because of the circumstances in which I had to let my exboyfriend take custody of them when we split up.
-
yes, it was thanksgiving dinner and my mom was still alive, preparing, cooking like she always did. to me, the dream means i miss her and think of her often.
-
Yes, I have dreamed that my father came back to my parents house and that I was so worried that he would be mad that I had done so much in the house (gone through all his papers, gave away his clothes, etc...)
-
yes; was walking through the hall of a shopping area in a building that also had offices on the upper floors and caught the sight of my friend waiting for an elevator, hesitated but continued to walk thinking it can't be John, he's dead. John called out my name and I turned and looked in disbelief and he told me come here it's really me.we hugged and still in disbelief I kept saying "it can't be". he said from time to time "they" are sent back to do a deed and that he was on his way upstairs to see someone. John was dressed business casual not his usual jeans and tshirt. the elevator came, he hugged me goodbye and said I have to go and got on the elevator; I turned and walked away. John was my best friend's husband that committed suicide almost 2 yrs ago. This wasn't the first I've dreamt of John, previous dreams he thanked me for taking care of Misty (his wife/my friend) and told me he was fine. Perhaps this last dream was the last time I'll see him in my dreams for a while (or ever) since it felt more of a goodbye hug and he had never said the words "i have to go" in my previous dreams; perhaps he's content that Misty will be ok and able to move on
-
The last time I had a dream like this I was a teenager. My grandfather who recently died appeared to me in a dream and told me he wasn't really dead. I think the dream means I didn't want him to be dead.
-
yeah i do all the time but I feel these dreams are them trying to tell me something, their way of talking to me so I will not explain further as these are very personal
-
Yes. I dreamed that my cousin came to visit me. I was in bed & he walked into the room and he was smiling and laughing as though we were telling jokes. It was strange to me because he appeared as he had when he was alive; he hadn't aged, but I was my real age. In life, he was much, much older than me but in my dream version of him, he would have been younger than me. He was concerned about me in the dream & I felt that he was giving me some kind of warning. I don't really have any thoughts about what this dream meant. It was a strange feeling that I woke up with.
-
My dad always appears in my dreams. Usually he is sitting in a chair observing the situation. Once he talked to another person in the dream (our state representative) but did not talk to me or my mother. The dream took place in the kitchen of my mother's home (the place where I grew up). I believe that this dream indicates that he is watching over me.
-
The last time this happened was several years ago. I quit smoking and was having nightmares about still smoking and running into people I knew that I had told I was going to quit. In the dream: I was in an arcade playing a video game you stand in front of, playing it. Without thinking I lit up a cigarette and began smoking it while playing. I then took the cigarette out of my mouth, looked at it, and thought how good it tasted. I then turned around and there was this stage behind me. Apparently I was at a stip club/arcade. This stripper came out on stage and began dancing. It was this girl I had known who I had told I was going to quit who died shortly thereafter. I was caught cheating on my promise to quit. I woke up. I thought I was in love with that girl when she was alive. I think dreaming about her is very natural as she hadn't died all that long before I had the dream, and as I prefaced; I had just quit smoking and was having several nightmares about smoking.
-
Yes. I frequently dream my parents are alive as well as my childhood best friend. I dream that my parents are younger (40's or 50's) but my brothers and I are the ages we are now. We always live in a house that is clearly ours but not a house known to me. No idea what it means. I have this frequently but the house is usually different.
-
Dreamed my grandmother whom I lived with as a child was still alive. I lived in the house I grew up in as an adult and she was there. It was Christmas time. I think dreams such as these represent my unwillingness to accept adulthood.
-
Yes. My mother was walking through my house, which was weird because she mostly used a wheelchair. She said, "oh, you took my cashmere sweaters." Also, I was lying in bed while she was walking around. She was wearing a cream-colored shirt and light blue pants. She said she liked my house. I think the dream my have been either her-actually visiting my new house or my mind wondering what she would think of my house. It was a nice dream.
-
Many times. My grandmother often speaks to me in dreams. I usually see her sitting in her favorite chair. She isn't actually talking, but yet we are still having a conversation. It's like empathetic communication, but I'm comforted by the idea of seeing her physical body.
-
i have dreamed that jessus led me to my house in heaven and i saw my parrents and all the people i have known inside wating for me. i was told this is what awaits me, but it is not now my time. i belive this means that i will be going to heaven.
-
I was with my deceased wife at an outing of some kind and we were really enjoying all that was going on. We had divorced a few years earlier. Meaning: What we had together wasn't really that bad.
-
After my father died I had this dream several times and later I found out my mother also had the same dream. I believe it was part of the grieving process. I was at a party in a large crowded room, I looked up and I saw my father on the other side of the room. I tried to get to him, working my way past all the people. Finally I got to the spot he had been but he was no longer there. I felt a sence of panic, looking all around the room then suddenly I found him again on the other side of the room and the dream started over again. This continued until I woke up crying. I had this dream many times in the year after my father died and a few times over the last 50 years. I still remember it clearly.

I dreamed that my father was still alive, although he died 15 years ago. The dream occurred a few weeks before I moved away to work on PhD. I dreamed he was sitting at the kitchen table, and I told him that he never told me how he felt about me getting a PhD. He didn't say anything: he just hugged me. I woke feeling that my father was telling me he was proud of me
-
Yes, my mother called me on the phone to tell me she knew I was upset and missing her and that everything would be ok. I said "where are you, are you ok" and she said, yes, I'm with Dad in Aruba! Then I woke up.

I used to dream that I met my cousin at a gate in a pasture.I had an abortion in real life and in the dream, he had raised my child.
-
I have had dreams where my mother is talking to me or we are doing something together. She passed in 2005. It has been a while since I have had one so I cannot recall the details.
-
Yes, I often dream of my son, Jesse, who passed away in 2010 at the age of 48. The really wierd thing is that there are others in my dreams from the past and the present, but the time lines don't come together right. Sometime Jesse is a little boy and others that I have just met in the last few years are also there with us. I also still dream about an old boyfriend that I was with 45 years ago. He has been dead more that 20 years, and another boyfriend that I was with about 20 years ago who died about 6 years ago
-
Yes my aunt and grandfather who are both dead were in my dream and we were having a family gathering and it just felt good to be able to feel like I was talking to them and actually able to touch them in a way. I just feel it happened because they were on my mind.
-
Yes, my Father. He appeared alive in front of me and then as I realised in my dream this could not be true he would die in front of me. I was dealing with the sureal Idea that My father was gone I was also angry that he was no lnger here.
-
I'm not sure if this fits your question, but last week I had a dream that I was in Victorian London, so technically everyone in that dream would be dead but I didn't know anyone specific in the dream. I think that it was because of watching the Olympics and seeing all of the old buildings of London.
-
Dreams with parents that are already gone. They live in a white house and dad is fixing things like always and my kids are playing and hanging with mom. I think it means I miss them and wish they could be around for my kids.
-
Often, I am trying to talk to them and feeling like something is unresolved. I am glad to get a chance to speak, but in the end, of course I realize they are not staying, or there in the first place. A feeling of loss
-
I have dreamed about my dad when I was a child. We were coming home from a day at the beach. It was evening and he was stopped by the police for a traffic violation. I remember he was very polite and respectful to the police officer.
-
Many years ago I dreamt about my daughter as a teenager, but she died as an infant. I only took it as a look at what she night have become had she not died so young. In an odd sort of way it was a comfort since it sort of answered a "what if?" for me.
-
My mom. I only remember that my mom and some of my siblings were in our home here we gre up. I can;t remember the details on that my mom was laughing. I thought that it may have been an omen that I was going to die.

-
My dad called to tell me he was OK. That he had been in Hawaii doing yoga and was enjoying himself. Funny thing, he died with only 1 leg! I think it was his way of letting me know he really was OK and that we would be OK to and not to worry so much.
-
Yes, my deceased spouse, alive and well. I realize in the dream that they are deceased and it's explained to me by friends also appearing in the dream that I shouldn't say anything about it as they don't remember that they died and It would upset them. It's upsetting, weird and recurring.
-
Yes. In the distant past I had a dream that my best childhood friend, Aaron, who died of cancer was back in my life and we were hanging out and there was a love interest emerging.
-
yes,I dreamed my father was at a family gathering and walked towards me offering a hug. In real life, my father died 4.5 years ago, had Parkinsons Disease and could not walk at all for the last 10 months of his life. I believe the dream was to comfort me,tell me he loves me and to tell me my father is still with me, even now.
-
My mother passed away about a year and a half ago. I have regular dreams of her especially when I'm stressed or have something on my mind. She comes to me in my dreams as a comfort or a guide sometimes depending on my needs. Sometimes she appears for no reason at all. I don't know what it means because her appearance is random at times.
-
My mother died 5 years ago and she still comes to me in my dreams. The most recent one I had was that mom hadn't really died, she just ran away for a few years and when she came back everyone was excited because we thought she was dead. She told us that she needed to get away and that she was back now and wouldn't leave us again. I was just so glad to see her again that I didn't question her. Then I woke up and knew it wasn't true and I was heartbroken.
-
I had a dream where I was in the living room with my mother about 3 months after she died. The dream occurred about a month ago. We were just talking and it was very pleasant. But I realized that I thought she was dead and I was going to ask her if she knew she was supposed to be dead, but I decided not to because I thought it would ruin the moment. So I just enjoyed my time with her. I don't really know what it means.
-

-
My deceased relatives often are in my dreams, but I am always aware on some level that they are dead, so it's not a feeling like thaey are still alive.
-
About 7 years ago, my wife of 25 years passed away. About a month after her death, I dreamed i was standing on the porch of a house we used to own, talking to her. She suffered from bi-polar disorder, and the last few years of her life were often difficult. In my dream, she looked far more beautiful than I had ever seen her. Completely content. Next, I was looking past the house toward a farm. There was a gravel lot with several machine sheds; typical of a farm. I saw a man walking into one of the sheds. Though we never spoke, I knew his name was Don. He was her husband. I was very happy for both of them, especially her. They seemed like they were happy with each other. Next, I was back on the porch, talking to her. The only thing I can remember saying was something like 'But, how can this be, you're.....not alive.......' I knew her answer would be absolutely profound, but I woke up before she could say anything. I was really disappointed that I woke up when I did. I'm pretty sure that I missed out on something big. I think this was her way of saying 'I'm ok, don't worry about me'. Just go on with your life and enjoy it as much as possible.
-
Yes...friend died and she came to me in dream asking me to check on her husband, said he wasn't doing well...she was even driving the car and taking me to his house in the dream.

I dreamed that my great grandfather was moving into my neighborhood. He was a very orderly, clean person in life;but, in the dream I was in the house that he was due to move into. It was very messy, food in sink and on counters, infested with rats and other critters. I do not know what this dream means.

-
I DON'T KNOW THAT HE APPEARED, BUT MY FATHER WAS PHYSICALLY WITH ME, THO OUT OF SIGHT IN A RENTAL HOUSE WE LIVED IN FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS -- ONE WHICH, AT THE TIME OF THE DREAM HAD BEEN TORN DOWN FOR SEVERAL YEARS FOR AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL EXPANSION. THE FLOOR WAS OPEN AND HE WAS TELLING ME TO HAVE PEST CONTROL COME OUT AND CHECK FOR TERMITES. MORE THAN LIKELY -- AS THIS WAS A NUMBER OF YEARS AGO, I WAS CONCERNED THAT I SHOULD HAVE A TERMITE CHECK ON MY OWN HOME. I DID, A COUPLE OF YEARS LATER, AND SHOULD PROBABLY DO IT AGAIN...
-
I have had these dreams but not recently. The last time I dreamed about my dead father, from whom I was estranged for 20 years. I was sitting at the kitchen table talking to him.
-
Yes, my father appears quite often even though he died 17 years ago. He is usually still working on the farm and I am doing things with him. I have no real idea of the meaning.
-
My grandmother has been deceased for one year now. My dream was about when she used to take us to a local park to feed the ducks that live in the pond. Her face was so real and I cud hear her voice so clearly. There it is most likely is no meaning to the dream. The anniversary of her death is coming up and it was a subconscious projection because that's all I have been thinking about lately.
-
Yes. I often dream about deceased relatives. I last dreamt about my father still being alive and he and I going on a fishing trip. I believe it is because I deeply miss him and we both enjoyed fishing that I had this dream.
-
the man who faded away and died last year of cancer, appeared in a room in my dream with a lot of people. They were happy and he was the center of attention, he was pleased. He was content and looked at me contentedly. It left me with a good feeling all that day.

-
I had a dream where I was hanging out and performing with my favorite trumpeter, fats navarro. I remember it being odd because since he died in 1950, there are to my knowledge, no known photots of him in color, but in the dream he was in color. I thought the dream signified that in a way, his spirit still lives on in those of us who have truly listened to this man and thinks that he was the greatest jazz trumpeter ever, hands down.
-
I haven't had a dream like that in ages, but did have several of my husband one was cuddling almost sexual, and several about his clothes which I had gotten rid of. I dreamed he came back and had nothing to wear!

-
I dreamed that my uncle was attending a family get together with us. He passed away last Sept. It will be a year in less then a month. He was always at the family gatherings and the dream seemed like it was real.

I dreamed about my deceased husband being in my dream with people that I once knew...however in real life, he did not know them. I think it means that I miss all of them.
-
Yes, my mother and my cousin. I had a dream where my mother just appeared in my bedroom when I was changing my grand daughter's diaper. My grand daughter made such a mess and my mother proceeded to help me by getting a wash cloth to finish changing the diaper. I had a dream about my cousin who was the same age as me when he died. It seems that I was walking down a long road with a lot of green grass. My cousin just showed up going the opposite way and when I looked back I wonder where he came from all of a sudden. My cousin had very white teeth and he was a little on the dark side. When I looked back, all I could see was his white teeth with that big smile he had. He waved and kept going.

I had a dream that I was playing in my friends backyard and my grandmother was somehow buried in her backyard and she came out of her grave/out of the ground. I think it might've meant that I just miss my grandmother so much.

Yes, I had a dream a few months ago about Curt Cobain (Nirvana singer commited suicide) I can't remember what it was about but when I woke up I was filled with happiness that I had been talking with him.
-
Yes. This is pretty personal, so although I remember it very well and even wrote down the dream, I will put a small sample of it. I drempt of a girl who I dated before I dated and married my wife. She had passed away about 6 months before. I dreamed about having two children with her and her identifying them by name. It was as if I was with her for the same amount of time I had been with my wife, but I remembered none of it. She explained to me how to help take care of a baby boy. This dream may have been a representation of what I expected my life to be like with this women, had I stayed with her instead of my wife.
-
Yes, but not recently. Many years after my grandfather had passed away, I had a dream that I met him in a rice field in a coastal city in Asia somewhere and he was trying to give me advice, but his voice was static-y like he was talking on a poorly-tuned radio. I'm not sure what that means; I've also never been to Asia.
-

-
Absolutely! I have frequent dreams which include both my late husband (who died 20 years ago) and my father (who died in 1970) together, even though my father had died before I married. My mother (also deceased in 1975) sometimes appears with them.
-
i remember years ago having a dream that my grandmother was alive. She told me she was proud of me. I was not very close with my grandmother and she died when I was 10 so it was odd to have a dream about her 25 years later.
-
Yes, Many times, My old boss died in a free diving accident in Baja CA, at a very young age with 5 kids & wife left behind. I was in his old Tow Truck and when I got back to his station he was there. He then became part of those that I was aware of being around me in the rest of my dream. MEANIG; I really miss him as well as the job that he taught me. He is helping to watch over me, & I have spiritual support.

this was a long time ago, but my grandmother died when i was only 6, and at about 22 or 23 years old, i dreamt that she was aon a game show, and you had to choose between staying alive or sitting in the bleachers and going ot heavan. When she sat down I cried and so "no, grandma, don;t go" but she just smiled and said she was fine. It was probably one of the most real feeling dreams I ever had but I felt that she did choose to go when she did

I've often dreamed about grandparents and great grandparents who have already passed away, but it wasn't as if they rose from the dead. It was just a flashback to when they were alive.

Yes. My friend Chris died several years ago. I dreamed that he came to me and we were sitting on the beach together and that he had his toenails painted orange and mine were red. He told me that he's ok. I think that it was my own mind trying to reassure me that Chris is in a better place and that he's not suffering.
-
Yes. It was my dad. We were sitting at a table with family, perhaps over thanksgiving dinner. He was looking at me with an expression of love and understanding. No words were spoken but I feel as if he was trying to reassure me that he knew of the regret I had for not calling or seeing him enough prior to his passing away. He gave me a hug in the dream and I swear I could smell and feel him as if it was real and not a dream
-
i dreamt about my cat coming to lie down in front of me, so that i could pet him. i told him i missed him, and he looked very happily at me. he then walked away... i also dreamt my grandmother was in the kitchen cooking with me and several other family members. however, she kept saying she was her sister, not herself, although i knew it was her. i kept saying how much she reminded me of my grandmother, and how much i wish she was here for me to tell her i miss her. and the "sister" said, "she knows... but you will be ok. she is with you." the rest of the family kept coming in and out of the kitchen, helping with various things as it was around a holiday that we were preparing. the light was fairly abundant from the outside, and she was wearing either a blue shirt and gray pants, or all gray.

my grandpa who passed away 3 years ago came back and talked to me on my birthday last year. He wished me a happy birthday. I told him I was so sorry for not coming back home to see him before he passed. He said he doesn't blame me. I was sobbing when I woke up.

After my grandmother passed away, I had recurring dreams where she would come sit on my bed at night and wake me up. She never would say anything, she would just rub my head like she did when I was little and upset about things. The dreams never lasted long. I think it was her way of telling me she was ok and would always be there for me.

I dreamed this alot after my dad died...The last one I had of him was: in my dream I remember waking up and going in the kitchen/dining room to eat breakfast with him like we always do. We had breakfast and talked like normal, then he went to work. When I woke up I got up expecting to see my dad in the kitchen...It was heartbreaking realizing it was just a dream.
-
I dreamed with a friend of mine. In the dream I was in a airport and I saw him and I ran to him and hugged him and the person that was with me mouthed out to him she really missed you. What does it mean? I just miss him a lot. our relationship started in a airport and it consisted of many meetings in an airport since we live in different countries. And we were both frequent flyers.
-
I've only ever had one like that, and it was years ago the night my father in law died. It was very brief. He appeared at the foot of my bed, and it was a bit scary. I think that it was just that he died suddenly and unexpectedly. I really don't attach much meaning to dreams.
-
I have had dreams of both my mother and father being alive and involved in day-to-day routines. Sometimes, it also involves remembering personality traits of the parent, not always pleasant ones.
-
Recently I had a dream where my father was still alive, and he was participating in some activity with some friends and myself (I don't remember what the activity was). I didn't think this was strange, as if in this dream world he had never died. I have no idea what this means.
-
Dreamt that I was on an airplane that was going down. My father was with me, and I felt more relaxed with him. I survived the crash. I believe that this dream is telling me that I would be able to deal with all of my problems, and that my father was watching over me.
